There are no translations available.

Þá er drauma þrotin stund,

þá er sjónarhringur fagur,

þá skal kasta þungum blund,

þá er runninn mikill dagur.

A Pocket-stemwinder from Þórður Grímsson
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Around turn of the century to 1900 Þórður Grímsson and Methúsalem Methúsalemsson from Bustarfell used to look after milking sheeps together.  On those trip they used to borrow this stemwinder to have with them from Þórðurs grandmother, Guðrún Laxdal.

Þórður then moved to Amerika.  When he became an old man he sent this stemvinder to Methúsalem in commemoration of their time together.
